Cheryl Strong Obituary

Cheryl A. Strong, 71, of Eau Claire, was called home to be with the Lord and Savior on August 2, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Eau Claire. She was born in Tampa, Florida on September 18, 1944, a daughter of Addison Strong and Helen Peterson. Cheryl loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a well-loved lady who found joy in everything she did. She never forgot a birthday and loved giving gifts. She loved attending services at Saving Grace Lutheran Church and had a wonderful church family who did many kind things for her. She enjoyed going to the Moose Club, dancing, the “Barrier Busters”, and “Par-te-rec” family gatherings and going out to eat with family and friends. She blessed many people who came into her life with her happy heart and loving ways. Cheryl worked for the Career Development Center for 38 years. She looked forward to each Wednesday when she could go to work. She enjoyed the staff and friends there. Cheryl is survived by her son, Jeff (Renee) Peterson; sisters, Connie (Richard) Winger; Kathy (Paul) Miezwa; nieces, Karen (Jeff) Kincaid, Kimberly (Jon) Mathwig, Michelle (Nick) Cole; her very special friends, Stan Aubert, Vicki Hagle, and Glen Schafer; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; three great-great nieces; three great-great nephews; her wonderful care givers, Allison Mai and Tonya Fetzer; and family friend “Little Linda”. A special thanks to the Winger, Hepfler, and Perry families who embraced Cheryl as a family member. She treasured those relationships and the special occasions spent together with them. She was preceded in death by her parents; other aunts and uncles. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 2124 Eastridge Center, Eau Claire, with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Private family burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Lake Hallie.
