David Krause Obituary

David W. Krause, age 67, of Eau Claire, WI, died on Friday, December 30, 2016. He was born on December 16, 1949, in Eau Claire. In 1975, he married Mary Wagner, and together they had one child, Wendy. He worked at the paper mill for 37 years, before retiring in 2011. Dave was a talented piano player and loved classical and rock music. He also enjoyed football (especially the Vikings), classic cars, dogs, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He was beloved for his sense of humor, storytelling, and easy smile, and he will be greatly missed. Dave is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Wendy Hathaway and son-in-law, Shaun Hathaway of Madison, WI; sister, Julie Renz; brother, Jack (Mary) Krause; mother-in-law, Maxine Wagner Johnson; brothers-in-law, Bill Peterson, Bruce (Ginger) Wagner, and Bill (Karen) Wagner; nephews and nieces, William Wagner, Laurel Wagner, Mike (Tami) Renz, Scott Peterson, Philip (Lynn) Peterson, Kylee (Kyle) Staebell, and Kari (Ryan) Whalen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Hulda Krause; sister, Kathlyn Peterson, father in law, William E. Wagner; brother-in-law, George Renz; and a niece, Kris Lashley. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake St. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Cherie Ferrot officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service Thursday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services is serving his family.
