Dean Arthur Heiman, age 80, peacefully passed to the Good Lord on June 4, 2016 due to a very short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in his home. Dean was born on May 28, 1936 in Eau Claire, WI, son of Edward and Ada (O’Brien) Heiman. He attended school in Eau Claire, graduating in 1955. He married Doris Spaeth in 1957 and was employed at Indianhead Frozen Foods for over 40 years, retiring in 1998 as sales manager. He made many friends over many years in his travels. Dean loved to fish for the “Big Muskie” and also enjoyed the time they spent in Florida walking the beaches looking for sand dollars, and then ending up in Albuquerque, NM with more family. Dean’s other passions included traveling with his family, watching or attending any sporting event, backyard bonfires, Easter egg hunts, and playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dean was a devoted Catholic and supported his parish functions and schools that his kids attended. Dean was survived, loved, and will be missed by his wife Doris of 60 years; his children, Peggy (Bob) Irving, Sandy (Steve) Meinholz, Dee (Mike) Brescia and John (Randy) Heiman; grandchildren, Ali Schultz, Michelle(Matt) Hansen, Jena (Jeffrey) Byron, Sara (Reilly Murphy) Schultz, and Jonathan (fiancé Emily Pierce) Meinholz; great grandchildren, Alexis and Micah Hansen, and Miles and Quinn Byron and soon to arrive Baby Murphy; brother Richard (Ellen) Heiman; sisters in-law, Pat and Fran Heiman. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Leland Popp; and brothers, Jim and Lance Heiman. Mass of Christian burial for Dean will be held at 11am, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 416 N. Dewey St, Eau Claire, WI, with Fr. George Thayilkuzhithottu officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:30 pm, Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the downtown location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with a Rosary service beginning at 6:30. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow services at Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington. In Lieu of flowers please send any donations to St. Patrick’s/Sacred Heart Church, 416 N. Dewy St., Eau Claire, St Joseph’s Hospice, 2661 Co Hwy I, Chippewa Falls, WI, or charity of your choice.
