Dorene A. Streveler

Dorene A. Streveler, age 85, of Eau Claire, WI, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Milestone Memory Care in Eau Claire. Dorene was born July 27, 1930 in Spring Brook Township, Dunn County, WI, to Albert and Iva (Harshman) Paulson. She was a graduate of Memorial High School in Eau Claire. She married Francis Streveler on June 17, 1950 in Eau Claire and had two beautiful children, son Gary and daughter Judy. Dorene first worked at Bunny Bread Bakery, then for five years at Maple Manor Motel. In 1970, she and Fran opened Fran’s Glass Service where she was the proud bookkeeper for over thirty years. Dorene loved going for Sunday afternoon car rides, listening to the radio and spending time at the cabin she and Fran built with their family, near Augusta. She loved the outdoors, camping, gardening and watching the birds and squirrels. The daily newspaper was a must to read and in the past she loved dancing. Her love for NASCAR, football, and baseball made it fun to follow her grandchildren in all their athletic pursuits. Dorene’s greatest joy was her family, she loved each member of her family and spending time with them, she will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Dorene is survived by one son, Gary (Debbie) Streveler of Fall Creek; son-in-law, Steven Faulkner of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Nicole (Patrick) Wilson of Eau Claire, Matthew Faulkner of Chippewa Falls, Andrew (Julie) Faulkner of Maplewood, MN, and Carrie (Heath) Lampman of LaCrosse; eight great grandchildren, Emilee & Katie Wilson, Ali & Trey Faulkner, Eli & Nina Faulkner, Gabriel & Ethan Lampman; one brother, Virgene (Bonnie) Paulson of Wyoming, MN; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dorene was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Iva (Harshman) Paulson; husband of 59 years, Francis (2009); daughter, Judy Faulkner (2010); and three siblings, LaVerne Paulson, Wanda LaTour and Hazel Hendrickson. Funeral Services will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of service at WEST CHAPEL. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery/Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. The family would like to thank Mayo Hospice and Milestone Senior Living Center for the special care given to Dorene this past year.
