Dorothy E. Bellesbach

Dorothy E. Bellesbach, 84, formerly of Eau Claire, died on Monday, October 27, 2014, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona, WI, where she resided for the past 14 months. She was born on February 28, 1930, to Basil and Evelyn (McSorley) Mathews. After raising her children, Dorothy worked a number of years in the Gift/Coffee Shop at Luther Hospital. Dorothy was very active at the Little Red Elementary School and as a 4-H leader with the Little Red Cardinals. She enjoyed playing cards, games, crocheting, and was a fabulous cook. Dorothy is survived by her four daughters, Terry Dodge of Eau Claire, Susan (Tom) Brantner of Eau Claire, Lisa (Chester) Goodman of Fall Creek, and Lori (Scott) Tomczak of Bloomer; three sons, James (Jayne) Bellesbach of Port St. Joe, FL, Michael (Cathy) Bellesbach of Trempealeau, WI, and Mark (Linda) Bellesbach of Allen, WI; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Vaughn (Lorraine) Mathews; sister, Sherry Slininger of Hudson, WI; sister-in-law, MaryAnn (Dan) Pett of Burlington, WI; and brother-in-law, John (Shirley) Bellesbach of South Milwaukee, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, Basil and Evelyn; Richard’s parents, William and Helen; brother- in-law, Robert Slininger; and sister-in-law, Shirley Green. Dorothy’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Oakwood Villa who took very good care of Dorothy while she stayed with them. A Funeral Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire. Visitation will start at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a private interment at Brunswick Cemetery in the Town of Brunswick.
