George H. Renz

George H. Renz, 74, was lifted to heaven peacefully surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, February 18, 2015. He was born July 27th, 1940 to Henry and Anna Renz. George attended Elk Mound Schools and he worked at Paisan’s Pizza in Eau Claire. He married Julie Krause in 1962. Julie and George have lived in Eau Claire for the past 52 years and were active members at Immanuel Lutheran Church. George (“Rock n Roll”) played the accordion with the Country Kin Band for many years. His love and enthusiasm for music has passed to generations within the Renz family. George worked at Pope & Talbot. In 1988 an on-the-job accident forced an early retirement. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. George would often say ‘The cows in the field are standing up. The fish are biting! Let’s go!’ However, nothing brought a larger smile to his face than his beloved Julie, and his family. George is survived by his devoted and caring wife, Julie. His brother, Dean (Helen) Renz: son, Michael (Tami) Renz: son-in-law, Roger Lashley: his grandchildren, Seth (Erin) Renz, Tryphina (Micah) Szabo, Jake Rudlong, Ben (Jennifer) Lashley, Heather (Joe Hedges) Lashley, Jesse (Denna Karpe) Lashley: and his great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cole, Silas, Paige, Falynn, Rebecca, and Haevan. He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter Kristine and his great grandson Christopher. A Funeral Service celebrating George’s life will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 3214 Golf Road, Eau Claire, with Pastor Paul Settegeren officiating. Burial will follow at the Lutheran Church Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015, at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 5 to7 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday at the church.
