Jacquelyn L. “Jacque” Falk, age 84, of Eau Claire, WI, died peacefully, Monday, November 16, 2015 at her home. Jacquelyn was born to Lester “Babe” and Lorraine (Rathke) Winger on December 17, 1930 in Eau Claire, WI. She married Stanton Falk on November 22, 1952 in Eau Claire, WI. Jacquelyn graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, as well as a Certification in Public Health in 1953. Jacquelyn worked for the City and County of Eau Claire Health Department for a brief time and then started working for Luther Hospital in many capacities. She worked in the OB, Delivery and Surgery. Jacquelyn worked for Dr. Horace Fuson until his retirement. She was then hired back at Luther Hospital and sent to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, GA returning to Luther Hospital to develop the Infection Control Program. During this same period, she also took over the Quality Assurance Program. Jacquelyn was inducted into the Sigma Thelma Tay National Honor Society of Nursing for her accomplishments in the field of nursing. During her nursing career, she contributed to the Board in Madison, developing guidelines in various disciplines to protect health care providers, as well as community members in Aides Protection. Jacque was an avid golfer and loved a challenging game of Bridge. She spent many family winters downhill skiing. During this time she was also a consultant for Infection Control, giving many lectures. Jacquelyn and Stanton retired to “The Villages” in Florida where they resided for many years. During this time they made many trips; including her favorites, New Zealand, Australia and especially, Italy. Family was very important to her and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jacque was also blessed with having a great number of special friends. Jacquelyn is survived by three children, Pam (Kim) Walker of Bonita Springs, FL, Jeffrey Falk of Columbia, IL and Kurt (Kari) Falk of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Eric (Chelsea) Walker, Kjersten (Zach) Berard, Kyle Falk and Matt (Maggie Kaiser) Falk; six great grandchildren, Emanuela Walker, Warren Walker, Kayden Berard, Braxton Berard, Wyatt Berard and Woodrow Falk; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a whole lot of friends. Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lorraine (Rathke) Winger; her husband, Stanton (2008); and one son, Marc. A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 310 Broadway St, Eau Claire, WI with Rev. Dr. Mark X. Pirazzini officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. A private, family burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Congregational United Church of Christ, Mayo Clinic Health System, Eau Claire or a charity of your choice.
