Joshua J. Bafford

Joshua "Josh" J. Bafford, 35, of Mondovi, WI, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017. He was born in LaGrange, IL, on August 13, 1981, a son of Larry and Paula (Vangen) Bafford. Josh graduated from Central High School in Paddock Lake, WI. After graduation, he did auto body work and later pursued his dream of being a personal trainer and nutritionist. In 2015, Josh was named Eau Claire's "Best Trainer of the Year". Josh enjoyed boating, fishing, and racing, especially racing his white Mustang Convertible and Kawasaki "Green Monster Edition" motorcycle. He also like to go four-wheeling and jet skiing. Although Josh loved to do many things, the number one love in his life was his son, James. He was a proud father. Josh is survived by his son, James; partner and mother of their son, Rebecca Schmitz of Mondovi; parents, Larry and Paula Bafford of Stockton, CA; sister, Suzie (Ignacio) Cachu of Bakersfield, CA; niece and nephew, Brenda and Nick Cachu, both of Bakersfield, CA; grandparents, James and Linda Troyanek of Nekoosa, WI; great-grandfather, James Knobloch of Holmen, WI. He is also survived by "Bailey, his pit bull; as well as uncles, cousins, other relatives and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Les and Ruby Bafford; great-grandmother, Evelyn Knoblach; uncle, James Troyanek, Jr.; best buddy, Nick Troyanek. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the WEST CHAPEL location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Avenue in Eau Claire. A private burial will take place in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park in La Crosse, WI.
