Larry S. Buxton, 80, of Eau Claire, died Friday, February 23, 2018, at Syverson Lutheran Home, Eau Claire. He was born on October 25, 1937, in Eau Claire, to Roy and Mable (Heimstadt) Buxton. Larry served in the US Army as a Communications Officer during the Korean War. He married Sigrid Jacobson on November 1, 1958, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. After his Honorable Discharge from the Army, Larry worked at Luther Hospital in the laundry department. He then found his career as a carpet installer for Kelly Furniture and Consumers Co-op Shopping Center. After his retirement, he worked at Country Jam USA for over 15 years. Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing, he was an avid outdoorsman. The family would like to thank the staff at Clearwater Care Center, formerly known as the Clairemont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Larry is survived by his son, Mark (Edie) Buxton; grandson, Tony Buxton; granddaughter, Carissa Buxton; step-granddaughter, Sevanna (Justin) Westerberg; great-grandsons, Jessie Buxton and Ian Westerberg; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and long-time family friend, Dorothy Buxton. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sigrid; parents; son, John; and brother, Roger. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 1st Ave, Eau Claire, with a Prayer Service at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Josh Toufar officiating.
