Lillian Solberg Obituary

Lillian Esther Amelia Solberg, 96, of Chippewa Falls, died on Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Our House Senior Living in Chippewa Falls. She was born on October 2, 1918, to Theodore and Anne (Kerner) Krueger in the Town of Wheaton, Chippewa County. Lillian was a lifetime member at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended Oak Knoll grade school and graduated from Colfax High School in 1937. On November 13, 1941, Lillian married Donald A Solberg at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church. They farmed together in the Albertville Area until Don passed in 1992. Lillian taught Sunday School, was active in Big Elk Creek Lady’s Aid and Lydia Circle. She also enjoyed quilting and embroidering. Lillian is survived by her son Darrell (Gail) Solberg of Chippewa Falls, Michael (Sherrill) Solberg of Colfax, Alan (Cheryl) Solberg of Elk Mound and Loran (Pam) Solberg of Elk Mound; her grandchildren, Laura (John) Sadler, David (Rebecca) Solberg, Mathew (Jen) Solberg, Nathan Solberg, Jason (Kim) Solberg, Ted (Christina) Solberg, Heather (Jesse) Halverson, Klare (Brian) Girgen, Joe (Chris) Solberg, Cathy (T.J.) Svihovec; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Hintzman; sisters-in-law, Irene Ovren, Mary Ellen Solberg and Melvina Evenson; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; brothers, Edwin, Gustav, La Verne and Harold (in infancy); sisters, Martha, Emma (in childhood), Elsie, Edna, Mildred; and daughter-in-law, Joyce Solberg. The family would like to thank HSHS St. Joseph Hospice and the staff of Our House Senior Living for their care of their mother these past months and two and a half years respectively, and also Dr. Lisa Gillette, Mayo Clinic, her personal physician. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2015, at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church, 6118 County Road M South in Elk Mound, WI, with Pastor Hal Schroetter officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Big Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery.
