Lois "Blondie" Horner

Lois M. “Blondie” Horner, age 83 of Eau Claire, WI died peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at The Syverson Home in Eau Claire. Lois was born January 6, 1932 in Manitowoc, WI to Edward and Frances (Kaminski) Waniger. She was a graduate of Manitowoc High School. Lois married Orville A. Horner on February 23, 1952 in Newton, WI. Blondie loved to take trips to Las Vegas with her husband Orville and playing Bingo at the local church events. She deeply recalls her trip to Hawaii; a once in a lifetime event. She loved to go fishing and hunting and putting puzzles together. Her commitment to her family was enormous. She was a caregiver for her husband when he became ill and showed unconditional love to her family and was a completely unselfish mother. If you were cold, she would take your hand and rub it and say, “don’t worry, you will get warm”. Lois is survived by her four children, Michelle (Bob) Dettmer, Debbie (Lloyd) Denning, David (Debbie) Horner, all of Eau Claire and Daniel Horner of Japan; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren (and one on the way); one brother, Edward “Sonny” (Lori) Waniger; one sister, Doreen Carbon; a very close cousin, Ruth Buretta; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Chapel West at 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Eau Claire.
