Marcellaine “Marcy” C. Schoettle , 85, of Eau Claire, WI, went to her heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Milestone Senior Living of Eau Claire with her family at her side. Marcy was born on October 24, 1930, to Frank and Kathryn (Flaherty) Beaver in Loyal, WI, she grew up with seven siblings. She married Robert Schoettle in 1950 in Eau Claire, where she and Bob raised their seven children. Early in their marriage Marcy worked as a switchboard operator at the telephone company and later at Midelfort Clinic. After retirement, Bob and Marcy enjoyed many summers camping and fishing at Log Cabin Hollow Resort on Yellow Lake in Webster, WI, where she was famous for her expertise at filleting northern pike. Marcy was a devout Catholic and attended St. James the Greater Catholic Church for over 50 years. She believed very strongly in the power of prayer. In addition to her faith, Marcy lived her life for her family. She loved welcoming us to her kitchen, which she lovingly referred to as “Grand Central Station”. Feeding us was her passion, and no one ever left hungry. She was most happy when she was serving others, whether it was providing baked goodies or freshly caught fish, sewing or altering clothes for us, or taking care of her grandchildren. It was such an amazing gift to have her in our lives! Marcy will be most remembered for her fun-loving nature and wonderful sense of humor. She was always entertaining others with jokes, funny stories, or endless games of Bananagrams. Completing challenging crossword puzzles kept her mind sharp. Marcy will also be remembered for her incredible talent at handcrafting – whether it be sewing, crocheting, or cross-stitch. She has gifted many with treasures to cherish forever. She lovingly attended to her flower garden and fresh flowers always adorned her table. Marcy is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert Schoettle; and her seven children, Kathy (Brad) Larsen, Pam Hegeholz, Diane (Larry) Shimkets, Jan (Glenn) Dole, Carol (Paul) Hansen, Peggy (Stuart Ashmore) Schoettle, and Rob (Lisa) Schoettle. She was a loving grandmother to Bryan Larsen (Terra), Beth Lindoo (Dave), Tony and Anna Shimkets, Robin Miller (Calvin), Samantha Dole (Jason), Lauren and Karla Hansen, Forrest and Mason Ashmore, James and Jacob Schoettle, and Lindsey McMahon; and great-grandmother to Brooks, Cole, Alana, Natalee, Peyton, Deacon, and Ruby. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Zagar; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Beaver and Audrey Girard; brother-in-law, Kenneth Schoettle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Lorraine Degenhardt, Evelyn Fricke, Art Beaver, Gilbert Beaver, Joseph Beaver, and Alice “Honey” Owen. A special thanks to the kind, dedicated staff at Milestone Memory Care that helped care for mom during her final months.
