Maurita Hanson Obituary

Maurita “Rita” L. Hanson, 90, of Eau Claire, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Syverson Lutheran Home under the care of their wonderful staff and St. Joes Hospice team. Rita was born on August 18, 1926, to Albert and Gertrude (Gunderson) Kent, in Gilmanton, WI. After Graduating High School, Rita married the love of her life, Robert Hanson, on December 30, 1948, in Mondovi, WI. Rita worked at Uniroyal for a short time before starting a career as an office assistant at Jevne Oil where she ended up retiring from. Rita enjoyed going to the casino and just being at home in the company of family, and she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. Rita survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Hanson of Chippewa Falls; 6 grandchildren, Joe Beaudette of Green Bay, WI, Karen (Javier) Strickland-Perez of Orlando FL, Hoang (Kristina) Ha of Green Bay, WI, Huong (Jason) Jessogne of Orlando, FL, Robert “Bobby” Hanson of Wisconsin Dells, WI, and Laura (Brian) Oldfield of Eau Claire, WI; 12 great-grandchildren, Tevin, Decon, Sayde, Trigger, Kayla, Brooklyn, Wyatt, Kylee, Carter, Elizabeth, Adalyn and Landon; her brother, Duttie (Ruthie) Kent of Mondovi, WI; and her very loving best friend, Roxanne Wile of Eau Claire. Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and daughter, Helen. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Lenmark-Gomsrud- Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire. Burial will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 27, 2017 in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family of Maurita would like to extend and immense thank you to the staff at the Syverson Lutheran Home for their kind and compassionate care they provided during a very difficult time.
