Patrick Scheffler Obituary

Patrick T. Scheffler, 81, passed away October 10, 2016, at the Syverson Nursing Home after a brief stay. On October 31, 1934, in Eau Claire, he was born to Louis and Anne (McGinty) Scheffler. He graduated from St. Pat’s High School (now known as Regis) in 1952. Patrick was united in marriage to Joanne Mattson on October 29, 1955, at St. James Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Patrick was drafted into the Army in January of 1957 and honorably discharged in January of 1959. He served in the Signal Corps in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Patrick retired from Uniroyal in 1991. He enjoyed attending his grandson’s sporting events, reading, working on puzzles, and walking. He will be remembered as a great story teller. Patrick was past president of Regis High School Booster Club, past treasurer for Regis High School Foundation, and inducted into the Regis Hall of Fame in 2002. Patrick is survived by his wife, Joanne; sons, Steven (Debbie) and John (Vicki); daughter, Paula (David) Burkard; grandsons, Taylor (Holly), Corbin and Parker Burkard; granddaughter, Mandy Nelson; sisters, Lenore Quigg, Beth (Jerry) Fisher, and Margaret (Duane) Sturz; brother-in-law, Paul Lokken; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; baby daughter, Anne; sister, Karen Lokken; sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Ivy, and Florence Mattson; and brothers-in-law, Marshal Quigg, Tom and Robert Mattson. The family would like to thank the Syverson Nursing Home for the exceptional care, compassion, and kindness provided. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Church, 1712 Highland Ave, Eau Claire, with Father Donald Meuret officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Regis High School or Immaculate Conception Church.
