Reuben C. Lynum, 95, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Oak Garden Place, Altoona, WI a retirement community he lived at for the past year. He was born in Eau Galle Township, St. Croix County, WI, on April 1, 1921, the son of Charles and Marion (Gjovig) Lynum. He graduated from Baldwin High School and went on to work for Stronks Hardware in Baldwin. Reuben moved to California where he worked for Lockheed Aircraft prior to enlisting in the U.S. Air Force. He served over three years until his honorable discharge on January 30, 1946. Reuben worked for several companies after the war. He finished out his career with Northern States Power living in Red Wing, MN for 22 years, and then 8 years living in Eau Claire, retiring with over 30 years of service. Over his lifetime Reuben enjoyed many years of traveling which included visits to 28 countries. He was long time member of Lake Street United Methodist Church. Reuben is survived by three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and two sisters. A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 10, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment of his cremation remains will follow the service at Martell Cemetery, Pierce County, Wisconsin.
