Roberta M. Sheehy

Roberta “Bobbie” M. Sheehy, 91 years young, of Altoona, WI, formerly of Eau Claire, WI, died Monday, December 5, 2016, at home of natural causes. Roberta was born December 11, 1924 in Eau Claire, to the late John and Lenore (Panian) Hobbs. Roberta graduated from St. Patrick's High School with the class of 1942. Roberta married Robert A. Sheehy on June, 14, 1947, in Eau Claire. He preceded her in death in 1968. Roberta was a secretary at First Wisconsin Bank (US bank) for many years. Roberta will always be remembered as the life of the party with her quick wit and sense of humor. She usually had a twinkle in her eye which meant she was up to something. She was a member of the Immaculata Ladies Society through Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, numerous card groups, and other organizations in the community. She was extremely proud of her 6 children and 17 grandchildren; she didn't hesitate to brag when she had the chance. Roberta is survived by her children, Barbara Moe of Eau Claire, William (Diana) Sheehy of Valley Center, CA, Jeanne Larson of Altoona, Mary (Gary) Buntmann of Greenwood Village, CO, David (Lori) Sheehy of Burnsville, MN, and Roxanne (Rusty) Gross of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Brady (Alex) Moe; Fr. Nic, Ryan (Barbara), Kyne, Sara, Luke, Tim, Will, Elyse Sheehy; Kelly, Jack, Pete Buntmann; Kaitlin Larson; Danielle and Tyler Sheehy; Matthew (Mary Vickery) Gross and Amy Gross; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Jon (Judy) Hobbs; sisters, Marnie King and Geri (Pat) O'Donahue. Roberta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; brother, William “Bill” Hobbs; brother-in-law, Bud King; and sons-in-law, Bud Moe and Scott “Reno” Larson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave, Eau Claire, with Father Don Meuret officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, with a 6:30 p.m. Rosary service, and again one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Private burial to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.
