Thomas G. “Tom” Jentlie, age 81, of Eau Claire, WI, died, Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Healthcare System in Eau Claire, WI surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born May 4, 1934 in Eau Claire, WI. to Ole and Lydia (Amundson) Jentlie. Thomas graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1952. Tom served in the US Army from 1956-1958 receiving an honorable discharge. Tom married Annabel Whitney on March 10, 1956 at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. He started his own company, Jentlie Home Improvements, which he owned and operated for nearly forty years, retiring in 1998. Tom was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed all sports; including playing golf, hunting, fishing, skiing and canoeing. Training “bird dogs” and running them in field trials, where he won many trophies with his Brittanys. Tom and Annabel enjoyed traveling to many parts of the United States and also took many trips abroad; recently spending their winters in Florida. Thomas is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, Annabel of Eau Claire; one son, Eric (Margaret) Jentlie of Eau Claire; two daughters, Kristal (Rick) Miller of Madison Lake, MN and Karen (Dennis) Meyer of Wolcott, NY; seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Janyl) Jentlie, Marie (Austin) Erickson, Danielle (Tegan) Snyder, Vanessa Miller, Miranda Miller, Sara Meyer and Matthew Meyer; three great granddaughters, Adrianna Jentlie, Elise Jentlie, and Eve Erickson; three great grandsons, Dean Klinger, Sevrin Erickson and Arlo Snyder; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Orville and Garfield. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave, Eau Claire with Pastor Amy Odgren officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home. 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, WI. and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Lutheran Church Cemetery, Omaha St, Eau Claire.
