Victor Heaviland Obituary

Victor Lee Heaviland, 65, of Eau Claire, lost his battle with cancer from Glioblastoma brain tumors on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at his residence with his loving wife, Jan Marie, by his side. Victor was born to Leon and Norma (Johnson) Heaviland on November 29, 1950 in Blue Island, IL. On October 19, 2002, Victor married the love of his life and best friend, Janice (Striegel) Fellows, who he lovingly referred to as his Jan Marie. He lived all his life in Eau Claire, WI, and graduated from Memorial High School in 1968. After his graduation, Victor enlisted in the Navy in 1969. He was a proud veteran – serving two tours in Vietnam. Upon his return, Victor attended Chippewa Valley Technical College and received an Associate degree in Marketing. Victor loved working with glass. He worked at Harmon Glass, a partner of I-94 Glass and Mirror, and for the majority of his years at Esser Glass, where he retired in 2013. He enjoyed the sport of bowling for much of his life. On November 9, 1988, at Wagner’s Lanes in Eau Claire, he achieved his goal of the perfect 300 game. Victor loved and cared about his Jan Marie, his friends, family, co-workers and customers. He enjoyed working with wood and building things with it. Victor and Jan Marie remodeled and enjoyed their numerous projects on their home through the years. Victor loved wearing his white t-shirts, working with stained glass, working in the yard, a good party, beers on the porch, grilling steaks on a Saturday night, listening to the blues, a good joke or story, NASCAR and the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his wife, Jan Marie; his dear mother, Norma Heaviland, of Eau Claire, WI; sister, Janet (Warren) Harden, of Normal, IL; his brother, Larry (Dawn) Heaviland, of Eau Claire, WI; nephews, Trevor and Trent Heaviland; Jan’s children, Brian (Emily) Fellows, of De Pere, WI; Lindsay (fiancé Andrew Olson) Fellows, of San Tan Valley, AZ; his mother-in-law, Bernie Striegel, of Park Falls, WI; sister-in-law, Lisa Jeurissen, of Iron, MN; brother-in-law, Jeff Striegel, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
