William Martenson Obituary

William F. Martenson, 82, of Eau Claire, died on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Grace Edgewood Assisted Living Facility in Altoona. William was born in Mondovi, WI, on April 8, 1935, a son to Arvid and Josephine (Glomski) Martenson. He spent most his life as a baker, working at Bunny Bread, Lamar’s Grocery of Menomonie, Consumers Co-op, and Mega Foods. In his younger years, he worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo, and playing cards – especially with his kids. Their favorite games were casino, smear, and crazy eights. William is survived by his children, Michael of Eau Claire, WI, Daniel of Eau Claire, WI, Marcia (Tim) Bandoli of Ellsworth, Bruce (Linda) of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Chad (Linsey), Michelle (Chad) Larson, Andrew, Melissa, and Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Nate, Mya, Lila, Harmony, and Macy. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie (2008); and one daughter, Vicky. A Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at the WEST CHAPEL LOCATION of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave, with Pastor Peter Soli officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 305. Burial will be at a later date in Rest Haven Cemetery. A special thank you to Grace Edgewood staff for their kindness and love they gave our father. Also, Anne Martenson for the love and devotion she had for William.
