Mac (Agnes) E. Schroer, 98, of Eau Claire, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at her home. She was born on June 5, 1920, in Fargo, ND, to Anthony and Clara (Herman) McMichael. Mac married Vernon A. Schroer on April 21, 1941, in Red Wing, MN, moving to Eau Claire in 1950, where together they raised their six children. At the age of 58, she became a tour guide for Holiday Travel for 17 years. Mac had visited all 50 states and 34 different countries. Mac was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and church groups. Mac was an avid gardener and also volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital and several other organizations. Mac is survived by her children, Lee Annette (Michael) Webb of Roseville, CA, Michael Schroer of Lake Wissota, Daniel (Sue Ellen) Schroer of Bloomington, MN, Toni (Gene) Dewitz of Fall Creek, Thomas Schroer of Eau Claire, and Don Schroer of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, Michelle, Lynn, Sara, Kelly, Jesse, and Jennifer; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Brendan, Emma, Ellie, Andrew, Charlie, Natalie, and Clara; and her pet cat, Kali. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; parents; and a brother, Robert McMichael. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Eau Claire County Humane Association, 3900 Old Town Hall Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701 Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave., Eau Claire, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to Noon, prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
