Betty-Jean Marie Hagmann went to meet her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2018. Betty was born on March 15, 1927 to Marie & Lewis Sippel in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was the middle child with Viola (Davey), her older sister and Mary Lou (Burseth) her younger sister. Betty grew up in Eau Claire and went to Sacred Heart Grade School and Eau Claire Senior High School. While in high school, she worked at Sacred Heart Pharmacy. After graduation she worked in the business office of Piggly Wiggly, a doctor’s office, and as a bookkeeper at the Rubber Company with her friend, Bernice, who later became her sister-in-law. Betty married Norbert Hagmann on June 12, 1948. They raised six beautiful children together. Juli of Seattle, WA, Charles (Terri) of Orfordville, WI, Paul (Pauline) of Clondalkin, Ireland, Lori (Frank) Kinsey of Cottage Grove, MN, Victoria (Mark) Knutson of Eau Claire, and Christopher who passed away in 1998. She was VERY proud of her grandchildren, Sarah (Jan) Bleicher, Rebecca (Anne Lopez), Stephanie (Adam) Caughey, Ashley (Tyler Shantz), Kevin Hagmann, Matthew and Timothy Knutson, and Kyle Kinsey; and great-granddaughters, Erin and Anneliese Bleicher. She will be dearly missed. Norbert passed away July 2009, after 61 years of marriage. Betty learned to fish with her mother at Dells Pond and it became a favorite hobby along with crossword puzzles and reading. Betty and Norbert enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and travelling. Betty was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church choir. The family would like to thank Dove Healthcare-West Reflections unit & St. Joe’s Hospice for their excellent care of Betty. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 416 N. Dewey St., Eau Claire, with Father Paul Hoffman officiating. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the WEST CHAPEL of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N Clairemont Ave, Eau Claire, with a Prayer Vigil beginning at 6:30 p.m. Inurnment of her cremated remains will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Eau Claire immediately after the funeral service.
