Bruce Frederick Ganong

Bruce F. Ganong, 81, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at BeeHive Homes of Eau Claire. Bruce was born on June 28, 1937 in Eau Claire, a son of Frederick and Dorothy (Meissner) Ganong. He attended Chippewa Falls High School graduating with the Class of 1955. On April 16, 1977 Bruce married Judith Fjelsted at her father’s home in Colfax, WI. Bruce served in the 32nd Division of Red Arrow National Guard in Kenosha, WI. Bruce worked at Uniroyal for 22 years, and seasonally for Scheideckers Pit Pumping. He enjoyed being in the woods and was an avid deer hunter. He also liked to work in the garden and pine trees. Bruce was affiliated with Hope United Methodist Church. Bruce is survived by his wife, Judith; sister, Marion Nichols of Colfax; nephews, Douglas (Nancy) Nichols of Red Wing, MN and Steve Nichols of Colfax; and numerous other relatives and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Duane Nichols; and niece, Shelly Rassbach. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mayo Clinic Health System-Home Health & Hospice, 1400 Bellinger St., Eau Claire, WI 54703, Salvation Army, 4548, 2211 S Hastings Way, Eau Claire, WI 54701 or Hope United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Hope United Methodist Church, 2233 Golf Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701 with Pastor Hyejung Hwang officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be held in McCombs Cemetery in the Town of Wheaton.
