Colleen M. Heacox

Colleen M. Heacox, 86, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2018, at River Pines in Altoona, surrounded by her loving family. Colleen was born on January 8, 1932, to Harry and Avis (Kruse) Washkuhn. She graduated from Ellsworth High School with the Class of 1949. She then married Kenneth Heacox on August 19, 1949. While raising their 5 children, Colleen and her husband made many moves to several states including, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and many more, eventually settling in Eau Claire to be near family. She was a loving mother. Colleen is survived by her Son Jeffrey Lee Heacox (Darlene) of Sherwood, AR; Daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Ruesch (John) of Eau Claire, WI; Son Kenneth E. Heacox Jr. (Linda) of Corry, PA; Son Peter G. Heacox Sr. (Barb) of Cartersville GA; Daughter Christine A. Heacox of Eau Claire, WI; Grandsons Chad A. Heacox (Jamey) of Louisville, OH; Thane Jeffrey Heacox (Summer) of Warren, PA; Peter G. Heacox Jr. (Christina) of DeWitt, NY; Erik D. Heacox (Susan) of Eau Claire, WI; Kelly J. Heacox of Pensacola; Tyler J. Heacox (Morgin) of Eau Claire, WI; Samuel K. Heacox (Kaylyn) of Eau Claire, WI; Great-Grandchildren Casey Heacox, Jenna Heacox, Izabelle "Izzy" Heacox, Ashley Heacox, Graesyn Heacox, Emery Heacox, Cassius Heacox and Emersyn Heacox. She is also survived by a brother-in-law Gary (Sue) Heacox of Cross Lake, MN and his three children, Julie (Randy) Brickner, Ellsworth,WI, Bob (Joanie) Heacox, Eau Claire, WI and Mary Jo (LeAllan) Huppert, Ellsworth, WI. Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years; her parents; and many other relatives. Her family would like to thank the staff at River Pines Nursing Home and Ann Gordon, NP for her attentive care. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, with Rev. David Irgens officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
