Dale Staves Obituary

Dale D. Staves, 62, of Altoona, WI, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on June 10, 2017, at his residence. Dale was born in Eau Claire, WI, a son to Dudley R. and Marion A. (Pech) Staves. Dale graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Business Management. Dale met Marcia Dale in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1980 and they were married on October 9, 1983. Their beautiful son, Anthony Vincent Staves, was born to them on May 18, 1990. Dale and Marcia had 36 amazing years together. They lived life to the fullest and were passionate about their work, sports, family, friends, and music. Dale spent the majority of his career in sales and sales management. He co-owned the Team Electronics store in Eau Claire and excelled at sales of consumer electronics. He was recognized as one of the top 3 master salesman of Apple Computer products in the United States, and had the honor of meeting Steve Jobs personally. Dale also sold home improvement products and ended his career working for Hutchinson Technology as a subject matter expert. Dale thoroughly enjoyed music his entire life. He played the drums and sang with various groups such as the Choristers and with the UWEC Singing Statesmen. He also enjoyed singing with his brothers, mother, and father when the family got together for holidays and visits. Dale also sang in musicals in high school. Marcia, Dale, and Tony enjoyed seeing live music throughout their life together and attended many music festivals, concerts, and shows in clubs throughout the country and in Texas. Dale coached Little League and Pony League baseball with many of Tony’s teams. Dale also enjoyed trout fishing with his brother Wally and his son Tony, and spending time at their place in Bayfield, Wisconsin on Lake Superior. Dale loved socializing with friends and had a magnetic personality, and an easy going manner, even with complete strangers. Dale is survived by his wife, Marcia Staves; his son Anthony Staves; and his mother, Marion Staves. He is also survived by his sisters in law, Nancy Staves and Diane Staves; his mother and father in law, Harold and Nancy Dale; brother and sister in law, Rich and Lorie Dale; sister in law Mary Lemmenes; numerous nieces; nephews; a special great nephew, Joseph Parra Staves; his precious puppy, Mitchell Staves; and many cherished friends who were so very special to him. Dale was preceded in death by his father, Dudley R. Staves; his brothers, Walter Staves and Steven Staves; and his grandparents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or the Eau Claire County Humane Association, 3900 Old Town Hall Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701. The family wishes to thank Dale’s Palliative Care Physician, Dr. Jim Deming, of Mayo Health System in Eau Claire, and those on the Mayo hospice team who cared for Dale. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 2124 Eastridge Center, Eau Claire, WI, with Rev. David J. Irgens officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until to services at the church. Burial will be in a private service at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
