Eileen Bernice Schaefer

Eileen B. Schaefer, 90, of Eau Claire, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at her home under the care of Mayo Clinic Health System – Home Health & Hospice. She was born on March 20, 1928 in Levis, WI, a daughter of William and Clara (Olson) Hegg. Eileen married Frederick L. Schaefer on June 15, 1946. She worked as a personal banker for American National Bank. Eileen was a member of Elks BPO # 402 and the Moose Club. She loved playing cards, spending her summers at Island Lake, and enjoyed trips to California, Las Vegas, Branson, and Florida. Eileen is survived by her children, Renee (David) Woodford and Robert (Linda) Schaefer; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sheila) Woodford, Rebekah (Korey) Bobb, Brian (Tamara) Woodford, Nathan (Joy) Schaefer, and Kristel Woodford; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special friend for the past 20 years, Charles Marczinke; and also by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; parents; brothers, Arthur (Norma) Hegg and Ralph (Dagney) Hegg; and sister, Joyce (Lester) Gunderson. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1314 E. Lexington Blvd. in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. in Eau Claire and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
