Elizabeth Mae Hogenson

Elizabeth Mae “Beth” Hogenson, age 66, died August 12, 2018, while under hospice care at Atrium Post-Acute Care in Chetek, WI. Beth was born on February 4, 1952, the youngest of six children, to Edward and Mary (DeWane) Hogenson. She was a long time resident of Eau Claire, WI. Faced with lifelong developmental challenges, Beth was still able to graduate from North High School. She enjoyed being with her family, working at Reach Inc., and participating in Special Olympics and Chippewa Valley Fishing Club. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Sacred Heart Hospital Critical Care Unit and the 6th floor team, Atrium Post-Acute Care and Lakeview Medical Center Hospice Care for their compassionate care of Beth. We also wish to express special thanks to Reach Inc. staff, where Beth proudly worked for many years, Serving Hands and the many caretakers at her Shady Grove residence, as well as Eau Claire Human Services for all they did for Beth. Beth was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, great niece and great nephew. She is survived by her sisters, Kay (Don), Lynn (Dennis) and Ann (Steve); brothers, Ed (Jeanie) and Kurt (Angie); plus, a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and a great great nephew. Beth will be lovingly missed by all! A Celebration of her Life will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 30, 2018, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St. Eau Claire, with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the Mass at church. A private, FAMILY ONLY, interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire. There will be NO funeral lunch. The family is requesting NO flowers or plants. In lieu of flowers, any donations will be given to Eau Claire Adult Special Olympics in memory of Beth.
