Harold C. Scarseth, 88, of Eau Claire, formerly of Chippewa Falls, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at Dove Healthcare West, in Eau Claire. Harold was born on July 23, 1929, in La Crosse, to Octiv and Hulda (Semb) Scarseth. On December 28, 1969, Harold married Ramona Dewitz, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Harold spent his youth and young adulthood on the family farm near Ettrick, WI. He graduated from University of Wisconsin La Crosse and worked for Social Services in Chippewa County for many years. He also worked at the Development Center in later years. Harold was always interested in helping people where ever he could. He was a great historian and could remember people and stories from four generations and loved to visit with family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars and projects around the house. Harold enjoyed singing and was in the Eau Claire Male Chorus for many years. Harold is survived by his wife, Ramona; son, Robert (Melissa) Scarseth; three granddaughters, Gretchen, Rachel and Ivy; sister, Karen (John) Shorts; nephews and niece, Peter, Christopher and Heidi; and other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Octiv and Hulda Scarseth. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, December 15, 2017, at Central Lutheran Church, 28 E. Columbia St. in Chippewa Falls. A Memorial Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church, with Pastor Aaron Sturgis officiating. Lunch will be provided from noon to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be at the Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eau Claire.
