Irene E. Heimstead

Irene E. “Sis” Heimstead, age 93, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018, surrounded by her family. Irene was born on November 2, 1925, in Eau Claire to Frank and Mable (Lee) Heimstead. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School at the age of 16. She then attended secretarial school before beginning her career as a secretary. She worked at various companies in Eau Claire. Irene was a long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, reading, bird watching, and her dogs. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Douglas “Mike” (Evangelyn) Heimstead, Sue Golden, Debra (Jeff) Jurgensen, Paul Heimstead, Cindi Cushman, Tom Helvey, Matthew (Sarah) Heimstead; and other relatives. Irene was preceded in death by her brothers, Douglas, LaMoine, William, James; nephew, Frank Heimstead; and her faithful dog, Shep. Irene’s family would like to thank Mayo Clinic Home Health & Hospice and Mayo Clinic Health Services for their excellent care. They would also like to thank Andy and Kay of Seniors Helping Seniors for their personal service. Per Irene’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
