Jewel Ione Myers

Jewel Myers, age 97, of Eau Claire, was called home on Friday, December 7, 2018 after a short illness. Jewel was born on January 29, 1921 in the Town of Sand Creek, WI, to Martin and Alma (Krause) Sylte. She graduated from Colfax High School and from Dunn County Normal School in 1940. After teaching for two years, she moved to Eau Claire, where she met Eugene Myers and they were married on September 4, 1946. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1999. She is also preceded in death by her two brothers, Ervin and Edmund Sylte; and six sisters, Oral Kramer, Bessie Meyer, Eva Toy, Eleanor Jennings, Lorraine Macrae, and Virginia Pond. Jewel is survived by her children, Marn Myers (William Barnette), Trudence Torok (Stephen) and Bradley Myers; two granddaughters, Suzanne Kubat and Melissa Erickson (John); and one great-grandson, Jacob Erickson; and many loved nieces and nephews. Jewel was a generous person with a real heart for children, homeless people and the hungry. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity. Funeral Services will be held at Noon, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the WEST CHAPEL location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Dean Simpson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. up until the time of service. Burial will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
