Loren Schwoch Obituary

Loren Earl Schwoch went home to his Savior on Thursday, March 14, 2019 peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home. Loren was born on January 13, 1942 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Earl and Florence Schwoch. He graduated from Memorial high school with the class of 1960. After high school he enlisted in the Air Force serving from 1962-1966. While in the Air Force he met the love of his life Judy Forsythe. They were married on April 18, 1964 in Madison, WI at Trinity Lutheran church. After leaving the Air Force he worked several years repairing outboard motors. He then worked at Uniroyal for 22 years until the plant closed down. He then attended CVTC earning an associate's degree in woodworking. He finished out his career installing and repairing garage doors. The couple welcomed 4 children into their home Douglas, Gregory, Julie and Heather. His children remember him as kind, gentle, generous and a hard working father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Loren was accomplished in woodworking, auto mechanics and general repairman for all who knew him. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with family. He was an active member at Pinehurst Lutheran Church serving as the Sunday school superintendent, usher, treasurer, board of trustees and the President. He also volunteered at Step Force with Midelfort Clinic for many years. Loren is survived by his loving wife Judy (Forsythe) Schwoch of 55 years. His children, Douglas (Marsha) Schwoch, Gregory (Kristine) Schwoch, Julie (Troy) Dokkestul and Heather (Mike) Lien. His 10 grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Bradly, Brayden, Bryxen, Gavin, Mikayla, Madysen, Jalil and Noah. And 5 great-granddaughters, Ella, Tenley, Raeleigh, Emma and Leigha. His sister Kathleen (Charles) Weise; sister-in-laws, Dottie (Alan) Lagerberg and Linda (Mike Roth) Benkowski and many nieces and nephews. Other special people in his life, Peter and Dennis Dokkestul, Matt Amenson, Janice Amenson, Taylor and Alexis and many that called him Papa. Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Florence (Bean) Schwoch; his father and mother-in-law Thomas and Dorothy (Austin) Forsythe; his brother Dale and sister-in-law Helen Schwoch; his brother-in-laws Thomas and Wayne Forsythe; his cousin, Sharon Bruesiwitz; his nephews, Timothy Lagerberg, Matthew Schwoch and Shawn Benkowski, and his grandson, Christopher Lien. A Funeral Service is planned for Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Pinehurst Lutheran Church, 3304 Fern Ct., Eau Claire at 11:00 am with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paul Sullivan will be officiating. An evening visitation is planned for Wednesday, March 20, 2019 between the times of 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire. The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Weiss for his dedication to Loren over the years. Mayo Clinic dialysis centers and Mayo Clinic hospice for their great care of Loren.
