Marjorie Marie Balaz, 97, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2017, at her residence. Marge was born on April 27, 1920, in Steger, IL, a daughter to Everett and Laura (Gansen) Toepfer. She grew up in Thornton, IL, and was married to William Paul Balaz, Sr. for 46 years before his death in 1995. After raising four children in Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Marge was actively involved in many community events. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, music and traveling both here and abroad. She is survived by her children, William (Cindy) Balaz, Jr, Laura (Paul) Muenich, Allen Balaz, Nancy (Dan) Wagner. Marge enjoyed time with her children, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be fondly remembered by all. A celebration of Marge's life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at St. James the Greater Church, Eau Claire, WI. Burial will be at 10 am on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Homewood Memorial Cemetery, Homewood, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to HSHS St. Joseph's Foundation, 2661 County Highway I Chippewa Falls, WI 54729 or to St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St, Eau Claire, WI, 54703
