R James Bruett

When the pain could no longer be silenced, we lost our beloved Jim on Thursday, October 26, 2017. R James (Jim) Bruett was born on July 24, 1964, and grew up in the Eau Claire area. He graduated from Altoona High School in 1982. Jim married Bobbie Kaplar in 1996, and they enjoyed many happy years raising Matthew and Marissa, joys in Jim's life. Jim loved to spend time at the cabin with his family fishing, boating, and playing endless hours of cards. He also enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling. Jim had many wonderful friends and he truly valued each of those friendships. Jim spent the last 19 years working at Mayo in Health Care Technology Management, a job he loved. Jim participated in activities with many good friends through Peace Lutheran Church. He was part of men's groups and he enjoyed evenings of card games. Jim is survived by his wife, Bobbie and their children, Matthew and Marissa; his sister, Connie (Frank) Wild and their daughter, Tia (Rick) Fosler; his sister, Lynne Hughes and her children Christopher (Kelli), Kayla, and Miles; his step-sisters, Mindy (Matt) Sanchez and their children, Xander and Aiden, and Danine (Daniel) Spencer Omoregie; his brother-in-law, Rob (Missy) Kaplar and his daughters, Miranda Bauer, Julia Zirbes and Isabell Kaplar; and his mother, Bonnie (Alvin) Ray, and his father, Ronald (Pat) Bruett; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lorraine and Stephen Agne, and Dorothy and Harold Bruett; and his mother-in-law, Sandy Kaplar. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov 2, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E Fillmore Ave in Eau Claire.
