Theresa Marie Witt

Theresa M. Witt, age 81, of Chippewa Falls, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Prairie Pointe Suites and Rehab in Altoona. Theresa was born on April 25, 1937, in the Town of Edson, near Stanley, WI, to George and Theresia (Soeller) Wellner. She attended Edson Grade School and graduated from Cadott High School with the Class of 1955. Theresa worked for Dr. Hanes at the clinic in Cadott and also helped take care of his family. Later, she worked at Mason Shoe Factory in Chippewa Falls. On May 18, 1957, she married Leon Witt at St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Together they farmed in Cadott and both drove school bus. She was very proud to have driven school bus for over 40 years! Theresa enjoyed decorating cakes, travelling throughout the world, gardening, craft shows, supporting the local FFA and 4-H clubs. Theresa is survived by her children, LouAnn (Errol) Weiss of Illinois, Fred (Pam) Witt of Iowa, Juanita (Dan) Sande of Cadott, Rhonda (Tom) Eppers of Abbotsford, Doreen (Sanders) Samplawski of Stanley and William (Nichelle) Witt of Hammond; grandson/raised as a son, Cory (Nicole) Witt of Stanley; grandchildren, Austin and Michael Witt, Shelby Sande, Josh and Jacob Eppers, Andy and Dusty Samplawski, and Gavin and Noah Witt; great-grandchildren, Mitchel, Clarissa, Brenda, Austin, and Kennedy Witt and Joplin Eppers; six siblings, Doris Wellner, Alice Saputo, Lorraine Foiles, Mae Boeger, George Wellner and Rosie Ebert; as well as many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon; daughter, Brenda Witt; grandson, Steven Weiss; parents, George and Theresia Wellner; in-laws, Fred and Bertha Witt; and adoptive parents, Alois and Gertrude Diedrich. Due to Theresa’s wishes, immediate family only services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Brooklawn Cemetery, Cadott.
