William Maierhofer - life partner, dad, grandpa, doctor, friend, unique individual - died in his sleep living life as he knew best - painting on the island of Crete. Bill was a man of many interests - running, hiking, reading, painting, playing the piano. He was a man of many passions - medicine, music, art, fitness. He was a man of many loves - Janney, Chris, Kate, Grant, Nick, and Andre, four beautiful grandchildren, siblings Dick, Mary and Bob, his patients, his co-workers, and his zest for life. Bill will be remembered as a person who cared deeply for his family, his vocation, his adventures. Whether climbing Kilimanjaro, snowboarding out west, or painting in Greece, he lived life to the fullest. Always seeking out that next adventure, always providing the best care for his patients, always finding time for family and friends. Bill loved living. He was a dedicated and energetic doctor, loved by his colleagues and patients, for whom he would do anything. Bill is survived not only by his family, but by all those who loved him, respected him, and admired him for living everyday with passion and intentions. Thus, we are saddened, but we also rejoice for him. A tribute to his life will be held on Sunday, September 23, at the Lismore Hotel from 1:00-4:00pm with a service starting at 2:00pm.
