Abigail V. "Abby" Thompson, 88, of Eau Claire passed away Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born September 1, 1913 to John and Lena (Solberg) Larson in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. \r\nAbby married Harold "Hap" Thompson on July 20, 1930 in Eau Claire where they were life-long residents, raising their four children. She was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include her son, Larry (Jeanne) Thompson of Chetek; three daughters, Yvonne (Roger) Sorenson, Barbara (Earl) Christenson and Patricia (James) Schlewitz all of Eau Claire; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great granddaughters; a sister, Lorena Larson of Osseo; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold in 1981; son, Gary; two brothers, Brian and Lorens Larson; and four sisters, Lillian Castad, Olive Bantle, Jenny Cramblit and Irma Hanson.\r\nAbby was a very special wife, mother and grandmother. She was devoted to her family and will be loved, remembered and missed by all who loved her. Thanks Mom.\r\nServices will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2001 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Gary F. Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.\r\nA special thanks to Pastors Andrew Boe, Gene Wickman and Abby's other caregivers at the Syverson Lutheran Home and Northwest Wisc.
