Adele M. Bartingale, 94, of Eau Claire died Sunday, January 21, 2007, at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born in Winona, Minnesota, on August 9, 1912, a daughter of William and Adele (Geckler) Benecke who had immigrated from Germany in 1901. She moved with her family to Eau Claire when she was 3 years of age.\r\nAdele married R. W. "Wes" Bartingale in Stillwater, MN, on Dec. 31, 1930.\r\nShe was a long time member of Bethel Baptist Church until its demise and then joined Hope United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the Eau Claire Women's Club and the Mehara Shrine Auxiliary. She was a charter member of PEO Chapter CH. \r\nFor many years she spent the winter months in Yuma, AZ. She was an excellent golfer and a very loyal fan of the Badgers and Packers.\r\nAdele is survived by her son, Jack (Carol) Bartingale of Eau Claire; a granddaughter, Brenda (Dale) Young of Eden Prairie, MN and their sons, Tyler and Connor; a grandson, Steve (Kari) Bartingale of Stillwater, MN and their daughters, Christina and Genna; her sister, Erika Stotesbury of Barron; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wes in 1981; three brothers, Ernest, Walter, and Ben Benecke; and three sisters, Liz Krohn, Margaret Wilkie, and Marie Krueger.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Hope United Methodist Church, 2233 Golf Rd, Eau Claire with the Rev. Don Gribble and Rev. Laura Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the Chippewa Valley Symphony Foundation, 316 Eau Claire St., Eau Claire, WI 54701, Hope United Methodist Church, 2233 Golf Road, Eau Claire, WI 54701, or a charity of the donor's choice.
