Agnes F. Eckert, 92, of Eau Claire, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire. Agnes was born on May 18, 1919, in Eau Claire, to Anton and Elgie (Szydel) Eckert. She attended St. Mary's Academy in Altoona. Agnes enjoyed golfing, bowling, rooting for her beloved Brewers and Packers, as well as her many winter vacations in Pompano Beach, Florida. She was employed at Sterling Pulp and Paper for 10 years, and then worked at National Presto Industries for 35 years until her retirement in 1982. She often told stories of the good times she had working with "all the gang" there. Agnes is survived by her sister Jean (Gerald) Bridges of Eau Claire; her nieces, Diane (John) Shope and Carol (Ronald) Rothfusz; great-nieces and nephews, Ben (Molly and daughter, Lexi) Shope, Greg Shope, and Emily, Brittany, and Luke Rothfusz. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at church. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Eau Claire. Ag's family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
