Obituary

\r\n\r\nAlan B. Corneiller, age 70, of Eau Claire, died on February 24, 2011. After a courageous battle with cancer for many years.\r\nAl was born on May 22, 1940 to Daniel and Alice (Couture) Corneiller in Burlington, WI. He was a graduate of Regis High School class of 1958 where he met and married his High School sweetheart Mary Lee Krausert. He worked at Wisconsin Bell for 32 years. He attended UWEC and also received a degree in Carpentry from the Eau Claire Technical College. Following his retirement he and Mary spent time traveling and attending his grandchildrens sporting events, he was their biggest cheerleader. He especially loved spending time at his cottage in Chetek, WI. His passion was his music. He was a talented sax player and his favorite time was spent playing with the Troppo Jazz Band, the Chippewa Valley Concert Band and the Municipal City Band. In addition to music his passions were fishing, hunting and the Green Bay Packers. Al was a loving husband, father and grandfather. \r\nHe is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Lee; children, Michael (Cheryl) Corneiller, Lori (Dave) Sheehy and James Corneiller; grandchildren, Ryan Corneiller, Ashley Corneiller, Danielle Sheehy, Tyler Sheehy and many good friends. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1712 Highland Ave., Eau Claire, with Father Eugene Klink officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, February 28th, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment will be at a later date.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family which will be donated to the "American Cancer Society, Richard M. Schulze, Hope Lodge of Minneapolis, MN." The Hope Lodge was "home" to Al and Mary after his bone marrow transplant in 2008.
