Albert H. Casey, 94, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at The Clairemont Nursing Home.\r\nHe was born in Anaheim, California on February 14, 1914, the son of Samuel and Carrie (Harris) Casey.\r\nAlbert married Lucille G. Johnson on August 19, 1939, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nHe worked at Gillette/Uniroyal Tire Factory in Eau Claire for 46 years as a bookkeeper/accountant, retiring in 1979.\r\nHe enjoyed wildlife, feeding the birds, and taking care of his cats and dogs, along with contributing his time and resources at the local humane societies and other charitable organizations. He also liked golfing and bowling and was a member of Eau Claire Lodge 112 F&AM and the Mehara Shrine Club for over 50 years.\r\nHe is survived by his sweet wife, Lucille, of 69 years. She was at his side until he left on his journey to eternal life. Albert is also survived by his sister-in-law, Ardys Casey; brother-in-law, Herman Steinhauer; and by cousins, Edwin, Martin, and Fred Piehl; and by numerous nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Don; and sister, Dorothy Steinhauer.\r\nVisitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2009, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire. Private graveside services will be Monday at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire.\r\nThe family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful, caring staff at the Clairemont Nursing Home.\r\n
