Obituary

Alfred J. Weber, 87, of Eau Claire died Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Dove Healthcare. He was born on March 12, 1921, the son of Ignatz and Hannah (Hayden) Weber.\r\nAlfred married Shirley Webster on February 11, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire. \r\nHe worked many years at Hotel Eau Claire in the laundry until its closing. He retired at the age of 63 from Sacred Heart Hospital as Assistant Manager of the laundry.\r\nAlfred was a Charter Member of St. Olaf Catholic Church.\r\nDad especially liked Wheel of Fortune, talking German with his brothers, flying in his later years, his special T-shirts he received as Christmas presents and driving fast.\r\nAlfred is survived by his daughter, Sharon (Michael) Whalen of Eau Claire; his brother, Jim (Doris) Weber of Tucson, AZ; sister-in-law, Lucille Weber of DePere, WI, and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife Shirley in 1999; a son, Norman in 1954; his parents; four brothers, Hubert, Herman, Ed and Carl; his sister, Dora Ableidinger; and a special friend "Orrie" the kitty who kept Dad's belly warm on many nights.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, Eau Claire, with Father Brian Konopa celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving his family.\r\n"We're going to miss you"\r\n \r\n
