Obituary

Alice Marie Hanson, 89, formerly of 1706 Laurel Ave., Eau Claire died peacefully Friday, November 28, 2003 at American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. She was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on June 27, 1914, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Weiher) Wagner. She graduated from Bloomer High School with class of 1931. \r\nAlice married Brenton A. Hanson on May 12, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Bloomer. \r\nShe was a bookkeeper at Armour&Co. in Bloomer for 10 years until moving to Eau Claire. Alice started employment at 1st Federal Savings and Loan in 1952. She was named Secretary of the Association in 1965, Vice President and Corporate Secretary in 1975, and named a Corporate Director, posts she held until her retirement in 1983.\r\nShe was a member of the National Secretaries Assn., Eau Claire Business Women's Group and St. John's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nSurvivors include her sister-in-law, Jean Heike of Mondovi; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.\r\nAlice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Brenton in 1952; four sisters-in-law, Eileen Monat, Thelma Gregory, Vera Nelson and Wanda Peterson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 at St. Johns Lutheran church in Eau Claire. Burial will be in Bloomer Cemetery in Bloomer. Family and friends may call at 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.
