ALICE J. JOHNSON, 77, of 1140 W. Hamilton Ave., Eau Claire, died Monday February 9, 1998 at Luther Hospital. She was born February 10, 1920 in Buffalo County to Benton and Louisa (Nelson) Paulson.\r\nShe married Clarence J. Johnson August 16, 1941 in Evanger Lutheran Church, Town of Dover, Buffalo County. They farmed in Buffalo County until 1957 at which time they moved to Chippewa County and continued farming.\r\nSurvivors include one son, Harold J. Johnson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; two daughters, Sandra (David) Cater of Eau Claire, Jean (Jim) Turner of Cameron; eight grandchildren, Jeff (Ginny) Machusak, Altoona, Arlette Machusak, Elk Mound, Kari (Neil) Bowe, Chippewa Falls, Cindy (Karl) Pearson-Cater, Mpls., Erin Cater, Eau Claire, Michael, Julie, and Mark Turner all of Cameron; three great-grandsons, Nigel and Conner Bowe, Chippewa Falls and Kadin Machusak, Altoona; three sisters, Margit Loomis, Beatrice Gilman and Florence Eberhardt all of Eau Claire; one brother John (June) Paulson of Eau Claire.\r\nAlice was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; and a sister-in-law Doris J. Nelson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10:30 a.m.Thursday at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Church with Pastor Hal Schroetter officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eau Claire. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. \r\n
