Alice M. Tio, 80, of Eau Claire, passed away on August 27, 2012, at Dove Healthcare-West in Eau Claire, where she has resided for the past four years. Alice was born in Boyd, WI, on February 11, 1932, the daughter of Peter and Marie (Asmussen) Dusick. Alice married Clarence M. Tio on February 16, 1953, at St. Joseph's Church in Boyd, WI. Alice worked for Singer Sewing, Red Owl, Senior Homecare and for many years, St. Olaf Catholic Church, where she was a member. She spent many years involved in the St. Olaf PCCW and other church activities. Alice was also a Cub Scout and Campfire Girl Leader for many years. Alice was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Alice was known to everyone as a wonderful cook. Her potato salad, cabbage rolls, bread and Salad Dressing Cake will be missed by all. Alice jumped at every chance to attend any country music festival or campout. She loved to travel and spent many winters in Arizona. Alice is survived by her husband of 59 years, Clarence; four children, Robert (Dawn) Tio of Arvada, CO, Tom (Donna Murr) Tio of Eau Claire, Donna (Mike) Backus of Eleva, and Pete (Linda) Tio of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren, Tony (Dawn) Tio, Shana and Sal Perera, Lisa Golden-Tio, Jacob Tio, Elizabeth Backus, Allison and Autumn Tio; and four brothers, Charles, Peter, Donald, and James; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Tio; grandson, Christopher Backus; great-grandson, Garret Tio; parents; two sisters, Marjorie and Donna; and three brothers, Gerald, Clarence and Harold. Alice's family would like to extend a special Thank You to all the staff at Dove Healthcare West for all their loving care for mom during her stay, and also greatly appreciated were Father Konopa's regular and comforting visits. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St. in Eau Claire, with Father Brian Konopa officiating. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Prayer Vigil at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home WEST CHAPEL, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday at the church.
