ALICE K. MICHELSEN, 90, formerly of 332 W. Tyler Ave., died Wednesday, February 4, 1998 at M.B.Syverson Lutheran Home. Alice was born July 27, 1907 to Martin and Johanna (Carlson) Ballman in St. Paul,MN. She grew up in St. Paul, MN , where she married the Rev. Georg C. Koehler S.T.M. in 1935. They lived in Chicago,IL and Superior,WI, and then to Eau Claire where they retired. George died in 1963. Alice married the Rev. Kristian S. Michelsen, Th.D. in Eau Claire on November 26, 1966. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she had been active in Women of Grace.\r\nSurvivors a sister-in-law, Louise Ballman of Moose Lake,MN; a step-daughter, Ruth McGaffey of Mequon; a step-son, Christian Michelsen of Denver,CO; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nAlice was preceded in death by her husbands, Georg and Kristian; a daughter, Johanna Koehler; a step-daughter, Connie Wagner; 6 sisters, Mary and Emerald Ballman, Camilla Walker, Esther Hovland, Crystal Miller, Hazel Nelsen; and two brothers, William and Edward Ballman.\r\nFuneral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel, with Pastors Howard Fehr and Clarence Schaffner officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, St. Paul, MN. Friends may call 10:00 am until time of services Saturday, at the church.
