Alice Lorraine Semingson passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Syverson Lutheran Nursing Home. Alice was born on October 16, 1931 in Eau Claire to Chris and Emma (Swanson) Mattison. She met the love of her life, Stan, at a baseball game in Carson Park and they were married on November 22, 1952 at Grace Lutheran Church. Together they had three sons. Alice was a proud homemaker. She often joked about how many picture windows her boys broke and how she didn't think she could have raised girls. Alice was an avid Cubs and Packers fan. She got her love of all sports from watching her three sons play throughout school. Alice enjoyed all of life including working with her flowers, going on vacations and simply playing cards or board games with her family. Alice is now reunited with the love of her life Stan; her parents Chris and Emma Mattison; brothers, Orv, Charlie, Bob and Chet Mattison; father and mother-in-law Magnus and Mary Semingson; sister-in-law Arlene; and brothers-in-law, Percy, Marshall (Doris) and Larry. Alice is survived by her three sons Bruce (Pam), Rick (Vickie) and John (Mary); five grandchildren, Jackie Semingson, Sarah (Ryan) Thurston, Brian Semingson, Luke Semingson, and Amber (Jake) Stanger; four great grandchildren, Mason, Emma, Braeden, and Evan Thurston; sisters Deloris (Ron) Huse, Muriel (Al) Gould; sisters-in-law Lorraine (Wes) Anderson, Bonnie (Jerry) Poellinger, and Mary Francis Semingson; brothers-in-law Merrill (Sherry) and Duane; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for Alice will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 2124 Eastridge Center, Eau Claire, with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior at the church. Inurnment will be at Rest Haven Garden. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family. The family would like to thank the Syverson Lutheran Home for the wonderful care they took of Alice. Alice was a very special woman who loved her family more than anything, and they loved her the same. Though she will be missed terribly, we smile to know her and Grandpa are together again.
