Allan E. Bilderback, age 81 of Eau Claire, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family, under the care of Mayo Home Health and Hospice, on Saturday, November 16, 2013. He was the seventh son of William and Vinnie (Perkins) Bilderback born in Eau Claire WI on Mother's Day, May 8, 1932. Allan graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1950. He entered the Army in 1952 serving in the Signal Corps while stationed at Camp Irwin California. He married Gayle a year later on December 12,1953. He built the family home in 1968 where he cherished playing games and spending time with his children, grand children and great-grand children. He retired from Uniroyal as an engineer in the powerhouse after 22 years of service stating in 1970. Allan is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Gayle; children, Rhonda (John) Monson, Richelle (Eric) Theis, Roxann (Daniel) Calkins, Randy (Jackie) Bilderback and Robert Bilderback; grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Faust, Dustin (Becky) Monson, Dustin (Jessica) Goodenough, Rebecca (Drew) Penzkover, Daniel Jay & James Calkins, and Shyanne Harrison; 10 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold (Yvonne) Mueller, John (Patti) Mueller, Charles (Linda) Mueller, Karen (Dennis) Haines, Donald Reynen, Jerome LeBarron and Beverly Bilderback; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and seven siblings, Loren, Ralph, Rodney, Lyle, Harry, Howard, and Leah Funeral Service will be at 7PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire, with a visitation beginning at 5PM. Military Honors will be conducted by the Eau Claire American Legion Post #53, following the service.
