Obituary

Allan A. Johnson, 84, of Fall Creek died peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital and is now with our Lord. His death was from pneumonia after suffering from a stroke four years ago. He was born in Strum, Wisconsin on July 8, 1924, a son of Alfred and Mabel (Olson) Johnson. \r\nHe graduated from Osseo High School with the class of 1941.\r\nAllan married Norma D. Zastrow on July 26, 1947, at Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. \r\nHe worked at Presto before purchasing his garbage hauling business in 1949. He operated as Johnson Disposal Service until 1981. Allan also helped keep his father's farm running for many years until it was sold.\r\nHe enjoyed bowling in men's league and playing cards with his friends.Allan loved to spending time at Lake Holcombe fishing with Norma, and tending to his large vegetable garden.\r\nAllan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Norma; four sons, Michael of Eau Claire, Miles (Sue) of Kenosha, Brian (Laura) of Holcombe and Kirk of Eau Claire; two daughters,Sharon Lienweber (Ed) of Wisconsin Rapids and Brenda Schilling (Brad) of Burnsville, MN; eight grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, Quinn and Christina Johnson, Carolyn, Amie (Tom Burns), and Benjamin Johnson, Jessica Lund and Jerod Wicke; four great grandchildren, Mya, Eliza, Kaleb and Jordan.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mabel; and two brothers Dennis and infant, Edward.\r\n"Although we will miss you, we are happy that you are now home with our Lord."\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2009, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1804 Highland Ave., Eau Claire, WI, 54701, with Pastor Karen M. Hofstad officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 11:30 to 1 p.m. on Monday prior to services. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington at a later date.
