Obituary

Alma S. Hill, 99, of Eau Claire died March 15, 2006 at Dove Health Care. She was born in Helvetia, West Virginia, on April 3, 1906, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Marti) Teuscher. She worked as a nanny for 30 years in California and during WWII worked in airplane assembly as a riveter. Alma lived in California for 31 years prior to moving to St. Louis Park, MN and then moved to Eau Claire in 1998.\r\nAlma was a member of Union Congregational Church in St. Louis Park prior to moving to Eau Claire.\r\nAmong her hobbies were reading, and in her younger years, caring for and riding farm horses. She was very caring toward others and was always there to help others. Alma loved hearing from the children that she helped raise over 40 years ago and cherished her memories with them. \r\nSurvivors include her sister, Margaret M. Smith of Eau Claire; nephews and nieces including Larry (Lillian) Smith of Eau Claire and Dwight (Bonita) Smith of Chippewa Falls; great nieces and nephews; Dawna (Dan) Drum of New Auburn, Tresia Hartl of Chetek and David (Carol) Smith of Boise, ID, Pat Padgitt of Canton, OH; three great-great nephews, Jordan and Tanner Hartl both of Chetek and Evan Smith of Boise, ID; and a great great niece, Cindy Burkhart of Canton, OH.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Lena Gurtek and Gertrude Paul.\r\nFuneral services will be at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2006, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Rev. David Huber officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to services, Saturday, at the funeral home.
