Alta H. Marczinke, 76, of 1621 9th Street died Monday, August 19, 1996 at Luther Hospital. She was born January 16, 1920 in Pierce County, North Dakota to George and Emma (Larson) Wold. Her family moved to Eau Claire several years later where she graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1937. Alta received her teaching certificate from Eau Claire Teachers College in 1939 and taught elementary school in Spring Valley. She later returned to Eau Claire where she was a librarian with Eau Claire Public Schools. Alta married Martin C. Marczinke in Stillwater,MN; on May 29, 1951. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, it's Rachel circle and Keenagers. Alta had many interests including dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and enjoyed company and conversation with family and friends.\r\nSurvivors include a son, Steve (Sue) Marczinke of Eau Claire; two brothers, Gordy (Marcella) Wold and Roger (Phyllis) Wold; two sisters, Oreen (Thad) Migawa and Ester (Helmer) Olson all of Eau Claire; many nieces and nephews.\r\nAlta was preceded in death by her husband, Martin in 1983; a brother Spencer Wold and a sister Fern Yarnell.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 A.M. Thursday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Cynthia A. Crane officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 8 P.M. Wednesday (Today) at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the Church.
