Obituary

Alvin C. Hanson, 79, of Eau Claire, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. He was born in Eau Claire on January 5, 1931, a son of Hans and Angie (Zimmerman) Hanson. \r\nAlvin worked 31 years in sales for Huebsch Laundry Company and then was a courier for Luther Hospital until retirement due to illness. \r\nHe served in the Army National Guard in Eau Claire from 1948 to 1951.\r\nHe was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Eau Claire.\r\nAlvin is survived by his wife, Ann; his four daughters, Mary (Richard) Qualheim, Ruth (Bryan) Fornell, Kathy (Glenn) Willer, and Patty (Ahmed) Quereshi; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Erica, Austin and Emma, and Monde and Isaac; and nieces and nephews. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Arthur and William; and his infant sister.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon on Monday, March 22, 2010, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 11th St., Eau Claire with Father John A. Schultz celebrating the Mass. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire where American Legion Post #53 will present military graveside honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving his family.
